Samsung Galaxy S Duos Dual-SIM-Smartphone mit 4inch-Display ab September in Europa

Was haben wir denn hier? Nein, das ist kein Samsung Galaxy S3, wie der Schriftzug über dem Display bereits verrät. Stattdessen handelt es sich hier um das neue Samsung Galaxy S Duos, welches sich zwar optisch sehr deutlich am Flaggschiff von Samsung orientiert, im Grunde aber eine ganz andere Zielgruppe ansprechen soll. Während das S3 mit High-End-Specs und Preis im oberen Marktsegment auf iPhone-Jagd geht, will Samsung mit dem Galaxy S Duos eher im unteren Preissegment Kunden fischen. Dementsprechend fällt die Ausstattung beim Duos wesentlich moderater aus, kommt doch lediglich ein einkerniger Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7227A mit 1 GHz zum Einsatz. Die Besonderheit ist hier aber, dass das Duos mit zwei SIM-Karten bestückt werden kann. man wird mit dem Gerät in der Lage sein, beide SIMs gleichzeitig zu nutzen. Dadurch kann man mit SIM 1 telefonieren, während man die andere zum Chatten über UMTS verwendet.

Zur weiteren Ausstattung gehören 512 MB RAM und ein mit 4 GB recht kleiner Onboard-Speicher. Das 4-Zoll-Display arbeitet mit 800×480 Pixeln und es gibt einen 1500mAh-Akku. Als Betriebssystem läuft auf dem 120 Gramm schweren Dual-SIM-Smartphone Android 4.0. Die Einführung des Samsung Galaxy S Duos beginnt im September in Europa.
