Apple und IBM haben am gestrigen Dienstag eine Kooperation verkuendet die festlegt, dass die beiden Firmen zusammen ueber 100 Business Apps fuer iOS entwickeln und damit das mobile Apple OS breiter auf dem Enterprise-Markt aufstellen wollen.
Apple und IBM machen nun auf BFFs? Deute ich die Pressemitteilungen richtig oder haben wir uns rein Aprilscherztechnisch um ein paar Monate vertan. Die beiden US-Giganten erklaeren sich naemlich nun zu einer Partnerschaft bereit in der es vor allen Dingen darum geht die iPads und iPhones dieses Planetens wieder zurueck ins Office zu bringen.
„BYOD“ (Bring Your Own Device) war nicht nur das Zauberwort all der vermeintlichen „Ich bringe deine Organisation wieder auf Vordermann“-Berater der letzten Jahre, es zeigte auch vor welch immensen Herausforderungen die verschiedenen Businesses standen. Das Smartphone war aus der Enterprise-Kultur nicht mehr wegzudenken und waehrend iPhone, Android und Windows Phone an Marktrelevanz gewannen, nahm die von RIM und BlackBerry dramatisch ab.
Jetzt scheint es so, als wollten Apple und IBM den Kanadischen Smartphone-Pionieren final das Grab schaufeln, sich aber vor allen Dingen staerker gegenueber Microsoft (traditionell stark im Business-Umfeld) und Google (Android for Work Initiative) aufstellen.
Ueber 100 Enterprise Apps will man nun zusammen fuer iOS entwickeln und damit den Krawattentraeger-Markt volley nehmen. Sehr schoen, denn letztendlich koennte da sowohl Microsoft, als auch Google ein wenig Konkurrenz vertragen, wobei letztere ja offenbar auch erst kuerzlich das Gebot der Stunde erkannt haben.
Und BlackBerry? Denen kann man inzwischen nicht nur Kooperationspartner im Dutzend wuenschen, sondern endlich eine klare Strategie und eine Plattform, die von der breiteren Masse angenommen wird.
